Angular dependences in inclusive two-hadron production at BELLE
نویسنده
چکیده
A collection of results is presented relevant for the analysis of azimuthal asymmetries in inclusive twohadron production at BELLE. The aim of this overview is to provide theoretical ingredients necessary to extract the Collins effect fragmentation function. The latter arises within the Collins–Soper factorization formalism, which describes both the transverse momentum and Q2 dependence of the cross section and its angular dependences at low and moderate transverse momentum. Since the Collins effect is not the only source of angular dependences, a discussion of various other effects is included. This concerns higher twist contributions, photon–Z-boson interference effects, radiative corrections, beam polarization and weak decays. Furthermore, different frames, transverse momentum weighting and ratios of asymmetries are discussed. These issues are all of relevance for the unambiguous measurement of the Collins effect. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. PACS: 13.66.Bc; 13.87.Fh; 13.88.+e

Realistic estimate of valence transversity from dihadron production
We have updated our extraction of the transversity parton distribution based on the analysis of pion-pair production in deep-inelastic scattering off transversely polarized targets in collinear factorization. The most recent COMPASS data for proton and deuteron targets, complemented by previous HERMES data on the proton, make it possible to perform a flavor separation of the valence components ...
متن کاملReview of Two-Photon Interactions
Presented are recent results of two-photon interactions. Topics inlcude photon structure functions, inclusive hadron production, differential cross sections derived from tagged γγ fusion events and results in exclusive hadron production, particularly the observations of the ηc. Two-photon interactions provide a unique opportunity to study a large variety of physics topics. In electron positron ...
متن کاملhep-ph/0401246 Inclusive J/ψ Productions at e + e − Colliders
Inclusive J/ψ productions in e + e − annihilation is studied in the framework of NRQCD. We first review the leading-order calculations of the cross sections for e + e − → J/ψc¯ c and e + e − → J/ψgg and find that their ratio is about 1:1.5 at √ s ≃ 10 GeV. This result is in conflict with the current measurements by the Belle Collaboration, which finds that the process e + e − → J/ψc¯ c accounts...
متن کاملRecent Results from LEP and Comparisons with Υ(4S) Experiments
Semileptonic (s.l.) B decays represent a favorable laboratory to study the dynamics of heavy quark decays, to determine the size of the |Vub| and |Vcb| CKM mixing matrix elements, crucial in the unitarity triangle test of the Standard Model, and to acquire informations on the structure of the B meson itself. The Aleph, Delphi, L3 and Opal experiments have analyzed together about 1.5 M s.l. B de...
